Construction completed June 2004, the Emerald Shores is a 9-story luxury resort and is the latest addition to the condo-hotels of Daytona area. This is only second of two buildings that were built from scratch, not a conversion from an older hotel. Catering to families, corporate travel and groups, the Emerald Shores Resort was built with you in mind. Offering non-smoking and smoking floors, handicap rooms, a pool, a jetted tub located on the oceanfront and a game room, wireless Internet access and business services. Guestrooms. The 85 well-appointed and spacious guestrooms feature designer furnishings, blue-gray carpeting, tropical print bedding and wood furniture. Oceanfront rooms offer floor-to-ceiling windows and a private balcony with views of the Atlantic Ocean. Rooms with a city view are available as well as suites with full kitchens. Each room includes cable television and a large bathroom with granite countertops. Some units feature kitchenettes and coffeemakers. Attempted as condo-hotel with prices starting from $170K, it came on the market a little too late, when the condo-hotel market went into hibernation, and property reverted to a rental/hotel property at least for now. Most probably would return to the idea of selling units as condo-hotel once the market is back. Nice location in Daytona Beach Shores could warrant a more family oriented type of condo-hotel, more in line with Hawaiian Inn. However, we heard complaints about poor insulation affecting guests' sleep. |
